Anti Aging Longevity Science And The Way Government Views It’s Results On Existing Social Services.

In this article, I plan to point out the government as well as the pharmaceutical industry’s efforts to stifle the use of human growth hormone or any other anti aging protocols.
Long before the formation of the US President’s Council on Bioethics, in the early 1980’s the FDA had been terrorizing any anti aging program or organization.
At that time, the Government was already beginning to worry about the problems of over population and in particular the problems with our social welfare systems of Social Security and Medicare.
In the early 1990’s Dr. Daniel Rudman’s completed his anti aging research work on HGH (Human Growth Hormone), which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine. His work made newspaper headlines around the world.
Immediately, worldwide there were hundreds of confirming trials being run. Each confirming trial seamed to add to the list of benefits that had already been established by Doctor Rudman. More information on Rudman’s study may be4 found at anti ageing treatment
After Dr. Daniel Rudman’s work, the FDA redoubled their harassing efforts against any anti aging protocol.
For some time the FDA was troubled by a company called the Life Extension Foundation. The FDA harassment now included seizing of the company’s inventory and court action.
The FDA did not look upon aging as a disease or life extension as a valid potential treatment. In 1991 Saul Kent and Bill Faloon, the principals of the Life Extension Foundation were incarcerated and told by the FDA that they would become the targets of criminal indictments that would “destroy their lives forever” and were advised to plead guilty of crimes against the state.
Against their own legal advice, Kent and Faloon fought the FDA in court and filed counter charges concerning their mistreatment. In 1995 the FDA informed Kent and Faloon that, in in place of a guilty plea, they would not have to be incarcerated and could continue doing business on a more limited basis.
Instead of pleading guilty, Kent and Faloon filed a new battery of legal motions, escalated their counterattack against the FDA and began extensive preparations for their trial.
In November 1995, the FDA dropped all charges except the charge of “obstruction of justice” against Saul Kent. In February 1996, this charge was also dropped.
The NIA (National Institute on Aging) which is a department of the NIH (National Institute of Health), contrary to the 1000’s of individual trials all over the world, persisted to deny that there are any supplements that could extend life.
Slowly but surely, as irrefutable test have been concluded, they have had to modify their position on various vitamins and supplements, but persisted to maintain that HGH (Human Growth Hormone) was not an successful anti aging modality. More information on HGH benefits may be found at anti age products.
In the later part of 1990′s the National Institute of Aging sponsored Dr. Marc Blackman on a verification study related to the life extension possibilities of HGH.
Although, by the time of that trial, 1000’s of independent studies had already determined the best therapeutic dosage of HGH, however, Dr. Blackman’s study used a dosage three times higher than that which had already been determined to cause side effects. When he submitted his final report it expounded on the detrimental side effects of injected HGH usage.
When, in 1990 at 55 years of age I personally started using the HGH secretagogues (an antagonist that stimulates the body’s pituitary to generate its own HGH) everyone was being urged to exercise great amount of caution until the science of HGH had been completely proven. Now, 20 years later, they say the science is still not verified . I use no pharmaceuticals and feel as I did when I was 55.
It appears to be a generally governmental belief that life expansion would destroy the planet with overpopulation. Leon Kass (chairman of the US President’s Council on Bioethics from 2001 to 2005) has exemplified the anti-life extension governmental view with the following statement:
Mr. Kass said, “Simply to covet a prolonged life span for ourselves is both a sign and a cause of our failure to open ourselves to procreation and to any higher purpose. … [The] desire to prolong youthfulness is not only a childish desire to eat one’s life and keep it; it is also an expression of a childish and narcissistic wish incompatible with devotion to posterity.”
Some life extensionists identify a lack of respect for individual choice in these words. This view would characterize Kass and others as seeking to use government authorityto ensure that no one’s life is extended regardless of their individual wishes.
Is it any wonder that every government funded trial of the usage of injected HGH has extolled the problems of side effects, even though the human body does not exhibit such problems?
